Queen Elizabeth Country Park Trail Run (QECP)
The event is based at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the South Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the A3 south of Petersfield in Hampshire. Runners start and finish at the park and follow hard packed off road trails through the park and nearby headlands.
Routes pass through ancient woodland at Head Down, reach the South Downs Way, follow the local Milky Way trail, and return to explore War Down with tree lined gravel tracks. The course includes varied terrain and open viewpoints across the South Downs.
Three route options are offered:
- 21.6 km (424 m elevation gain)
- 15.2 km (328 m elevation gain)
- 7.9 km (161 m elevation gain)
The event is chip timed and provides water stations, on course refreshments, first aid cover, encouraging marshals, a high quality finisher medal, a personalised certificate and finisher goodies. The race route is signed with pink arrows and pink tape and hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs. Parking at the venue is charged at £3 per car. The event requests runners bring a reusable cup or bottle as it operates plastic free. One dog per runner is permitted and basic dog items such as water and poo bags are recommended.
