Event
Pyramid Rock Run takes place in Church Rock, New Mexico, on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The event is a fundraiser; all proceeds go to the Rehoboth Christian High School Track team. Refunds will not be given. The start and finish are in a low, mostly flat drainage plain located just above the Rio Puerco riverbed, about 1 mile to the south.
Course
The course is roughly 7 km long and moves across mixed surfaces including sand, clay, and sandstone slick rock. The route includes short climbs, off-camber slick rock sections marked by large rock cairns, steps cut into stone, and sections where precise footing is needed.
Key features described in the route: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

- A climb up a slick rock face about 0.6 mi from the start, followed by off-camber sandstone sections.
- A climb onto and over fingers of rock with cairns guiding the line; the climb up to Pyramid Rock begins near 1.9 mi.
- A climb of nearly 0.9 mi gaining about 700 ft, with the final 0.25 mi of climbing on switchbacks that are also used for the descent.
- A descent that is often sandy and steep, with some stone or wood stairs to navigate, followed by mixed slick rock and a final mix of sand and clay-dirt road to the finish.
