Purple Up! 5K & Fun Run - Collinsville, MS
The Purple Up! 5K & Fun Run takes place on Friday April 10, 2026, at East Bank Shelter, Lake Okatibbee (8604 Okatibbee Dam Road, Collinsville, MS). The event is organized by WLHS National Honor Society and WLHS Stars & Stripes Club and raises contributions to benefit military families at school and in the local community.
Events include:
- Purple Up! 5K Run/Walk
- Purple Up! Fun Run (age 10 and under)
- T-shirt only
The course is a loop with water stations available along the route. All 5K and Fun Run registrants receive a dryfit performance t-shirt if registered by 3/25 and a medal with registration; t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after that date. The event will not be professionally timed; organizers will record finishing order for awards and participants are encouraged to track their own times using the race clock.
Awards are given across multiple divisions, including overall fastest male and female, age-group categories from 10 and under through 60 plus, middle and high school student categories, and recognition for West Lauderdale School faculty members.
All participants and spectators are subject to Title 36 rules and regulations. Alcohol is not permitted on the premises. Pets may not participate in the race; spectator pets must remain on a leash at all times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
