Pura Vida 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Pura Vida 5K Fun Run/Walk is a community athletics event organized by the Wood Dale School District 7 Wellness Committee. The event is held in Wood Dale, Illinois, and coincides with the City of Wood Dale’s Prairie Fest, a local summer festival featuring food trucks, live music, and carnival rides. This event is scheduled on Father's Day, providing an opportunity for families and community members to engage in physical activity together.
The course for this officially timed event follows a scenic route around Salt Creek Marsh and the Wood Dale/Itasca Reservoir. Participants will experience natural views while traveling along the local trail system. The activity is open to participants of all ages, including students, staff, and the general public.

The event starts at 300 Bauman Court, with available parking at the Flextron Circuit Assembly. The race begins at the trail entrance located just west of the parking lot. Participants who register by a specific early deadline are provided with an official event T-shirt. Students who participate in the run or walk receive a wristband for unlimited carnival rides at the festival for the day of the event.
This is a rain or shine event with a no-refund policy. In the event that the venue requires a cancellation, the race transitions to a virtual format. The registration fee structure is tiered based on the date of entry, with specific discounted rates available for student participants.
