Pura Vida 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Pura Vida 5K Fun Run/Walk is a community running event held on June 21, 2026 and hosted by the Wood Dale School District 7 Wellness Committee. The event is an officially timed 5K on a scenic course around Salt Creek Marsh and the Wood Dale Itasca Reservoir. The route begins near the trailhead west of the parking lot at 300 Bauman Court in Wood Dale, Illinois.
The event is paired with the City of Wood Dales Prairie Fest, which includes food trucks, carnival rides, and live music. Students who participate in the 5K receive a wristband for unlimited carnival rides on June 21, 2026. Participants who register by the early registration deadline will receive an official Pura Vida 5K event T shirt.
Registration pricing is tiered: early registration through May 1 is $20 for adults and $5 for students; regular registration May 2 through June 12 is $25 for adults and $5 for students; late registration June 13 through race morning is $30 for adults and $10 for students. Parking is available at Flextron Circuit Assembly, 300 Bauman Court, and the course starts at the trailhead just west of that lot. The event is rain or shine with a no refund policy; if the venue requires cancellation entries will be transferred to a virtual format and participants can collect race packet items.
