About the race
The Pumpkinman Triathlon Festival is a multirace event held at Spring Hill in South Berwick, Maine, marking its 20th anniversary in 2026. The weekend program includes Sprint and Olympic triathlon formats, relay options, and an Olympic aqua bike.
Distances offered:
- Sprint Triathlon (Solo and Relay): .3 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 5K run
- Olympic Triathlon (Solo and Relay): .9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 10K run
- Olympic Aquabike: .9 mile swim, 25 mile bike
Every athlete receives a custom race tee, a swag bag, a finisher medal, an imprinted swim cap, chip timing with race photos, and USAT officials on course. A post-race Harvest Brunch is part of the event and includes breakfast burritos, pumpkin pancakes, yogurt parfaits, a Bloody Mary bar, apple cider mimosas, and pumpkin beer.
The course uses local back roads with seacoast scenery and includes a 250-meter hill climb from the water exit to the bike transition, modeled on Powderhouse Hill. Volunteers from the local community provide support along the course.
The festival supports the Marshwood Education Foundation. Since 2006, Pumpkinman has donated over $435,000 to community causes. Fundraising incentives for participants include tiered rewards at $150, $250, and $500 levels, with access to an upgraded finish-area lounge, special swag items, and recognition at the celebration.
