Event Overview
The Pumpkin Run and Ride is a multi-sport event held in Fullerton, California, at the Juanita Cooke Greenbelt Trail. The event features both running and cycling disciplines with various distance options for the community, including a dedicated 5K for the general public and a separate session for Fullerton School District students and families. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and a costume contest is part of the festivities.
Running Events
The running portion of the event takes place on the local trail system and offers the following:
- 5K Pumpkin Run/Walk for the general public
- 5K Pumpkin Run for Fullerton School District students, families, and staff
Registered runners receive a T-shirt, participation medal, and a running bib with timed results. In the general public race, additional medals are awarded to top runners in each age group as well as overall male and female winners.
Cycling Events
The Tour de Fullerton offers several road and off-road biking options supported by local cycling clubs:
- 35 Miles Road Ride (Fast and Intermediate groups) featuring 2,000 feet of climbing through Turnbull Canyon
- 10 Miles Easy Road Ride with an optional 6 Miles hill loop
- 11 Miles Mountain Bike Race on the Fullerton Loop
Cycling registration includes a T-shirt and a participation medal. Road rides tour local neighborhoods and community centers where the organizing body serves.
Location and Amenities
The event base is located at the parking lot behind the North Justice Center at 1275 N Berkeley Ave. Check-in for participants includes access to breakfast.
