Barnesville Pumpkin Festival 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community running and walking event held in Barnesville, Ohio at 511 Watt Avenue. It includes a main 5k program with separate categories and a short kids run for children 12 and under. The 5k program has multiple divisions, including a standard run, a walking-only division with strict walking rules, a self-declared heavyweight King/Queen division (210 lbs for men, 170 lbs for women) that is not eligible for regular age group awards, and a handcycle/wheelchair division with overall trophies for top finishers.
All children in the Little Pumpkin Run receive a mini pumpkin and a pumpkin medallion; the kids race is run in waves with older children first and parents may run with their young ones. Registration fees listed for the 5k divisions are $25 and the kids run is free. The first 400 registrants receive a moisture management shirt; additional shirt distribution is by race number on a first come, first served basis.
The event features ceramic pumpkin trophies, door prizes, and a variety of food offerings including pizzas, pepperoni rolls, subs, deli sandwiches, pasta salad, and home baked cookies and muffins.
