Providence Rhode Races
Providence Rhode Races offers multiple road race distances with a common start and finish at Bold Point Park in East Providence. The event includes a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, and a 1K Kids Fun Run limited to children under age 10. The marathon course is USATF certified and serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The courses pass through several Providence-area neighborhoods and landmarks, including India Park, Blackstone Boulevard, the Henderson Bridge, Waterfront Drive, and the East Bay Bike Path. The 5K follows a route into East Providence along Veteran's Memorial Parkway and returns on the East Bay Bike Path. Aid stations are located throughout the courses and provide water, Gu energy gels, Nuun electrolyte drink, bananas, and port-a-potties.
Pace groups are provided for the half and full marathon with set target paces. Official course time limits apply: Marathon six hours, Half Marathon three and a half hours, 5K one hour. Packet pick-up is scheduled across the race weekend with race day packet pick-up available by reservation. Shuttle service and designated participant parking locations are provided near the start area; some local roads will have restricted access during the event.
Event amenities include free race photos, gender and race specific technical shirts, finisher medals for marathon and half marathon, live runner tracking via a mobile app, a post-race festival with music and a beer garden for participants of age, and free post-race massages. The race partners with Make A Wish and is R.I. Department of Environmental Management Green-Certified. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
