Providence Rhode Races
Providence Rhode Races is a multi-distance road running event held in East Providence with start and finish at Bold Point Park. The event includes a full marathon, half marathon, 5K and a 1k kids fun run for children under age 10. The marathon course is USATF certified and serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier. Routes pass through India Point Park, Blackstone Boulevard, newly constructed bike lanes on the Henderson Bridge, Waterfront Drive, the East Bay Bike Path and include a loop around the RI Country Club in Barrington.
Event services include packet pick-up before race weekend and on-site packet pick-up on race day by reservation. Participant parking is organized with shuttle service from designated office park lots; there is no parking at Pierce Field. Aid stations are placed along the courses and supply water, electrolyte drink, some energy gels and bananas; port-a-potties are provided at each aid station.
Support features include pace groups for marathon and half marathon, live runner tracking via the RaceJoy app, free high-quality race photos, gender- and race-specific tech shirts, and finisher medals for the marathon and half marathon. A post-race festival at Bold Point Park offers food, a beer garden, music and free post-race massages. The event is Green-Certified by the R.I.
