Pronghorn Pursuit Trail Run : June 6, 2026, Dillon, MT
The Pronghorn Pursuit Trail Run takes place at the Dillon Town Overlook Trailhead, 1700 10 Mile Road, Dillon, MT 59725. The event includes the following distances:
- 15k Trail Run
- 5k Trail Run
- Kid's 5k (ages 10 and under)
- Fun Run/Walk 1 Mile
This is the 6th annual edition, organized by the Beaverhead Trails Coalition in partnership with the Beaverhead County High School Cross Country team.
Course and event details
All courses are off-pavement on the High Trails system and offer views of the Beaverhead River Valley. The 15k course is mostly single-track and includes about 2400' of climbing; the organizer describes a mix of steep climbs, technical descents and fast single-track. The 5k course includes steeper sections with over 500' of climbing and finishes with a downhill final kilometer. Aid stations and their distances from the start are listed on the race maps for both the 5k and 15k courses. The 15k course layout may change and maps will be updated if it does.
T-shirts are an add-on to registration; shirts paid for before May 20 will be available for pickup at the race, later purchases can be picked up at Big Tyme in Dillon or shipped for a fee. Food and awards follow the races at the Trailhead. Runners enter free; spectators pay $5. The races are chip timed by the Butte Track Club.
