Event Overview
The Pronghorn Pursuit Trail Run is the 6th annual event organized by the Beaverhead Trails Coalition in partnership with the Beaverhead County High School Cross Country team. The event takes place on the BTC High Trails system just outside Dillon, Montana, starting from the new West Trailhead.
Distances
The event offers four race distances:
- 15k Trail Run
- 5k Trail Run
- Kid's 5k (for ages 10 and under)
- Fun Run/Walk 1 Mile
All courses are exclusively off-pavement trails. The 15k route features about 2400 feet of climbing and is predominantly single-track. The 5k course also includes technical sections and climbs over 500 feet. Both routes offer views of the Beaverhead River Valley.
Additional Information
Race-day registration must be completed 30 minutes before a race starts. Packet pickup and late registration are available the day before the race. Food and awards are provided after the races at the trailhead. Runners get free admission to the post-race area; spectators pay $5.00.
T-shirts are not included in the base registration fee but can be added during registration for an extra cost. Shirts ordered before a specified date are available for pickup at the race; later orders can be picked up at a local store or shipped for a fee.
