Priest Lake Triathlon : Off-Road
The Priest Lake Sprint off-road triathlon is a multi-discipline event held at Hill's Resort on Priest Lake, Idaho. The race offers a short open-water swim, a mountain bike leg on forest roads, and a run along the lake shore. Competitors may enter individually or form relay teams of two or three; relay teammates may complete any combination of legs.
Courses and distances:
- Swim: 395 m, a single lap around the marina.
- Mountain bike: 11 miles on forest road with mixed surfaces.
- Run: 5 km out-and-back on packed dirt road.
The off-road bike course includes dirt, loose gravel, rocks, ruts, and potholes; mountain bikes with front suspension are advised. Cyclocross or gravel riders are recommended to pre-ride the course to assess suitability and safety. Transition and relay handoff areas are near the start and finish and are clearly marked. The route will be marked with directional signs and flagging tape.
Final race instructions are distributed to participants about two weeks before race day. Races are held rain or shine. Policies include no bib transfers or refunds and no pets on course. Participants may drop to a lower distance up to one week before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
