About the race
Prairie On Fire Backyard Ultra is a recurring endurance event held in Noblesville, IN, at White River Campground and using trails in Koteewi Park and along E 234th Street. The 2026 edition is the fifth annual event and is organized by MTC with Hamilton County parks. Organizers plan improvements to the runner experience for 2026.
The event follows the Backyard Ultra format. Each loop measures 4.167 miles and must be completed within a fixed hour; runners who finish a loop may begin the next loop. The sequence continues in hourly cycles until only one runner remains.
The course combines a dirt and gravel day loop through Koteewi Park with a paved trail section along E 234th Street. The 2026 course is described as identical or very similar to previous years. Past editions included multiple runners who covered extensive distances; in 2025 more than 20 runners reached 100 miles.
Practical details such as registration and event status are managed through the organizer's entry system. The description above summarizes the event format, location, and course layout without start or finish times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
