Prairie On Fire Backyard Ultra - Noblesville, IN
Prairie On Fire Backyard Ultra is the fifth annual Backyard Ultra event held in Noblesville, Indiana. The race is presented by MTC and Hamilton County Parks and takes place at White River Campground with course sections in Koteewi Park and along E 234th Street.
The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: runners must complete a 4.167 mile loop within each hour and return to the start line to attempt the next loop. Runners repeat the same loop each hour and the event continues until only one runner remains.
The 2026 course combines a 4.167 mile dirt and gravel day loop through Koteewi Park with a 4.167 mile paved trail out and back along E 234th Street. Organizers note course layout is identical or very similar to previous years and that improvements to the runner experience have been planned for this edition. In 2025, more than 20 runners exceeded 100 miles at this event.
