Prairie Nightmare Backyard Ultra - B-Say-Tah
The Prairie Nightmare Backyard Ultra takes place at Echo Valley Provincial Park near Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. It is a "Last Person Standing" event, with only one winner. All other participants receive a DNF (Did Not Finish).
The format follows classic Backyard Ultra rules. Runners must complete a 6.706 km loop on gentle trails within one hour. A new loop starts every hour on the hour. The race ends when the last runner or runners either concede or fail to finish a loop within the allotted time. Runners must be at the start line when the whistle blows.
A "Prairie Daydream" option is available. It serves as an introduction to the Backyard format without competitive pressure. Participants can run from 1 to 5 loops, starting at any hour they choose up to 3 PM. They may inform the race director if they wish to attempt more loops.
This is a cupless race. Participants must bring their own refillable bottles or cups. Camping is available on-site for the race weekend. Additional fees apply for tenting, car camping, and trailers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
