3rd Annual PPP3CA Race for Rare 5K Run/Walk
This event takes place on August 23, 2026 at Lake Shawnee, Shelter House #3, in Topeka, Kansas. It benefits the PPP3CA Hope Foundation, a parent-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advances research for PPP3CA rare disease. Proceeds are designated to fund research, support collaboration, raise awareness, and assist families affected by PPP3CA.

The event is family friendly. On-site offerings described by the organizer include a free pancake bar, water, and a coffee truck available for purchase. Activities for children will include bubbles, wristbands, face paint, and participant medals.
Registration costs $20 with an optional $20 add-on for a Race for Rare logo T-shirt and swag bag. The 5K is described as an untimed race. Awards will be presented for multiple age categories from early childhood through seniors, plus recognitions for eldest runner, best overall male and female, and special awards such as "Claire's Courage Award: The Bravest Stripes."
