About the race
A local 10K road, trail and towpath race around the village of Poynton. The route leaves the village centre, climbs out to the Middlewood Way and returns to Park Lane via the Poynton Inclines and Poynton Park. A course map is available on the event entry page.
Race HQ is at Poynton Civic Centre, Park Lane, SK12 1RB, where registration, parking (not free) and toilets are located. Several nearby car parks are available; porta-loos will be on site before, during and after the event. Bags may be left in the hall but will not be supervised during the race.
Registration opens at 08:00 and there are no entries on the day. Race numbers and timing chips are collected from registration on race day. The organiser will email a race pack to entrants about 1 to 2 weeks before the event.
There is no formal cut-off time, but the organiser requests notification if a runner expects to take longer than 1 hour 45 minutes so that arrangements can be made when Park Lane reopens to traffic.
Optional medals can be pre-ordered for £4.00. Volunteers are sought to marshal the event; volunteers are offered a free transferable entry for a future event or a charity donation on their behalf.
Prize awards follow UKA guidelines with male and female open prizes, veteran categories from V40 in five-year bands, and team prizes with three to count. Entry is limited to 800 and the minimum age is 16 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
