Event Overview

Power of Pink is a community event dedicated to helping local women battling breast cancer. This is the 16th annual event, taking place over two days in May. It is a fundraising event where all money raised goes directly to recipients.

Event Schedule

On the first day, a Friday Night Dinner and auction is held at Wheaton High School on McCall Street. Tickets for the dinner cost $20 and can be purchased online or at the door.

On the second day, a walk/run event and another auction are held at Wheaton City Park, located one block from 219 E. Main Street. The on-site activities include food and basket raffles.

Running and Walking Events

The main activities on the second day include several running and walking events. Registration for these events includes a t-shirt (guaranteed if ordered before the deadline), a goody bag, and a participant medal for all 5k and 1 mile participants. Chip timing is provided for the 5k only. Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers and to the top three in each age group.

Breast cancer survivors who register for a survivor-specific event receive a special survivor shirt. Same-day registration is available, and packet pickup occurs on the day of the run/walk events.

Virtual Option

A virtual run/walk option allows participants to complete their chosen distance at their own pace and location. Registrants for this option receive a shirt, bib, and finisher's medal by mail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
