6th Annual Poteet Strawberry 5K / 1 Mile Walk and Mascot Dash
The event takes place on April 4, 2026 in Poteet, Texas at the Poteet Strawberry Festival Grounds, organized by TRiCiTy Road Warriors, Farm to Familia, and IAAP. It is presented by a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and will run rain or shine. The program includes a chip-timed, certified 5K and a one-lap one-mile course around the festival grounds. The 5K is an out-and-back route that begins at the festival grounds and extends into nearby countryside. The 1 Mile is one lap inside the festival grounds. Participant amenities include event shirts and finisher medals with size and item availability tied to registration deadlines and limited quantities. Awards are planned for top finishers by gender, age groups, and a team award for the largest registered team. The first finishers and early registrants are eligible for limited shirts and medals.
Safety and participant rules are specified: children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult during the 5K and 1 Mile events, and children under 5 must be escorted on the 1 Mile. Strollers are allowed and must line up behind runners, and pets are permitted when leashed, cleaned up after, and properly vaccinated.
