Patriot Day 5K and 1 Mile Walk
The 7th Annual Patriot Day event takes place on September 11, 2027 at Pleasanton River Park in Pleasanton, Texas. The event includes running and walking opportunities that commemorate the anniversary of September 11 and raise funds for the local JROTC booster club.
- 5K (3.1 miles) chip timed by IAAP; shirt and finisher medal guaranteed with registration by August 22
- 1 mile walk untimed; walk registration does not include a shirt or medal
The 5K awards overall and age group placings for male and female runners, with 1st through 3rd places in multiple age divisions from 14 and under through 70 and over. Packet pickup and race-day check-in occur at Pleasanton River Park on the morning of the event. 5K registration follows a tiered fee schedule, and 1 mile walk registration is listed at $20; some registration windows and item guarantees depend on signup date.
Proceeds support the local JROTC program. The event description notes amenities at the park, a post-event ceremony and food and beverages, and that the event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions make it unsafe. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The event is described as family friendly, veteran friendly, first responder friendly, and pet friendly.
