Event Overview
The Pot O' Gold is a festive running event held annually on St. Patrick's Day in downtown Flint, Michigan. The 2026 edition will be the 46th annual race, held in partnership with the Ancient Order of Hibernians and J. P. O'Sullivan Distributing.
Event Details
The event features multiple distances:
- A 4-mile run or walk on a loop course.
- Little Leprechaun kids' races (1/4 mile and 1/2 mile).
- A .317K Beer Dash, which is approximately 100 yards.
The 4-mile course starts and finishes at First and Harrison Street at the Flat Lot. It passes through parts of the city including the University of Michigan-Flint Campus, Mott Community College Campus, the Flint Cultural Center, and Applewood Estates.
Participant Perks
All 4-mile participants receive festive flair to wear, a custom 4-inch race medal, and a technical fabric race shirt. Age group awards are provided for men and women in the run and competitive walk categories. Beer Dash participants receive a beer-dash shirt and a Crim gift. Little Leprechaun participants receive a medal, with a t-shirt available for separate purchase.
Post-Race Activities
A post-race party includes one complimentary adult beverage for participants 21+, pizza, fruit, and non-alcoholic drinks. A warming tent, live band, and food trucks with items for purchase will be available. The party concludes at 9:00 PM. Spectators can attend the party but must purchase drink tickets for beverages.
Registration and Logistics
Registration pricing varies by date and event. Packet pick-up is available on March 16th at Complete Runner Flint and on race day at the Flat Lot from 3:00 PM to 5:45 PM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
