Portland 5K - Head for the Cure
The second annual Head for the Cure Portland 5K is a fundraising run/walk held on July 26, 2026, along the Downtown Waterfront at SW Naito Parkway in Portland, Oregon. The event combines a community race with fundraising activities to support clinical research and local care programs related to brain cancer.
Event programming includes day-of packet pick up, a Kids Fun Run 100 meter dash, a 5K run/walk, a brain tumor survivor photo, and community recognitions such as Keeping the Faith, Legacy of Love, Healthcare Hero, and Legacy of Hope.
Funds raised at this event will locally benefit OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the Knight Cancer Institute, Providence Brain and Spine Institute, Path to Hope, and other national brain cancer programs, education, and initiatives. The event lists Novocure as a presenting sponsor. Recent fundraising figures on the event page show $1,971 raised toward a $150,000 goal.
The event page includes resources for teams and fundraisers, frequently asked questions, and information about community recognitions that honor caregivers, healthcare professionals, survivors, and memorials. The race takes place on public downtown waterfront streets and includes family-focused elements such as the children’s dash and survivor photo opportunities.
