Portland 3 Bays Running Festival
The Portland 3 Bays Running Festival is a multi-day event held in Portland and the Great South West region. The festival features a combination of coastal trail runs and road races, utilizing the Great South West Walk and local road networks. The trail events primarily consist of single track terrain with some beach sections along the coastline.
Participants can choose from several individual distances and relay formats:
- 60 km Trail Ultra Marathon
- 42.2 km Marathon (one of the oldest road marathons in Victoria)
- 30 km Coastal Trail Run
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10.5 km Quarter Marathon
- 102 km Hybrid Fool (combined 60 km trail and 42.2 km road marathon)
- Relay races for primary schools, secondary schools, and teams of 4 or 8 people
The road marathon course includes approximately 300m of elevation gain, while the half marathon course features about 100m of elevation. The quarter marathon is a flat course with less than 40m of total elevation gain. Trail events focus on the cliffs and coastal scenery of the region, specifically following the Great South West Walk.
