Port Royal Mile : Port Royal, SC
The Port Royal Mile is a one-mile road event on Paris Avenue in Port Royal, South Carolina, anchored near Town Hall at Paris Avenue and 8th Street. The course is certified (SC26008JK) and includes quarter-mile markers and on-course restroom access near the start and finish area.
The event offers three one-mile options:
- 1 mile - Family Fun Run, non-competitive
- 1 mile - Competitive run, under 40 years old
- 1 mile - Competitive run, 40 years and up
Registration opens April 15, 2026 and closes September 10, 2026. Entry fees vary by age: $20 for ages 1–13 and $25 for older age ranges as listed for each race. Competitive races are chip timed and produce official results. Age groups are defined in ten-year bands and awards include medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age category, plus overall male and female recognitions; overall winners receive a gift certificate from Ground Running. The family fun run is timed but does not receive age-group awards.
Packet and shirt pick-up are available the day before the event at Grounded Running in Beaufort and on race day at the start/finish location. Participants who register by August 14 at midnight are eligible to receive a race shirt; no extra shirts are ordered. There are no refunds or transfers; if the event is cancelled for safety reasons entry fees become a donation to the Historic Port Royal Foundation. Volunteers receive a complimentary race t-shirt.
