Port Royal Mile
The Port Royal Mile is scheduled for September 12, 2026, on Paris Avenue in Port Royal, South Carolina. The event uses a one mile course with the start and finish near the clock at Town Hall and quarter mile markers along the route.
The program includes a family fun run or walk that is non competitive, plus two chip timed competitive heats organized by age group: under 40 and 40 and over. Competitive races produce official results and awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age category, plus top overall male and female prizes. There is also recognition for the largest participating team. Fun run participants will be timed but are not eligible for age group awards.
Registration opens April 15 and closes September 10. Entry fees are generally twenty five dollars with a reduced rate of twenty dollars for ages one to thirteen. Packet and shirt pick up are available in advance at Grounded Running in Beaufort and on race day at the start and finish on Paris Avenue and 8th Street. Participants who register by August 14 will receive a race shirt; no extra shirts will be available on the day of the event.
Bathrooms will be available at the start and finish. No refunds or transfers are offered. The event will be held rain or shine and in cases of extreme weather or safety concerns entries may be treated as charitable donations to the Historic Port Royal Foundation. Volunteers receive a complimentary race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
