Port Royal Mile
The Port Royal Mile is a one-mile road event held in Port Royal, South Carolina on Paris Avenue. The course starts and finishes near the clock at Town Hall at Paris Avenue and 8th Street, and quarter-mile markers are placed along the route. Bathrooms are available at the start and finish area.
The event includes a family Fun Run/Walk and two competitive heats that are chip timed. The Fun Run/Walk is non-competitive and will be timed but is not eligible for age group awards. The competitive heats are split by age - under 40 and 40 and over - with awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age category and special prizes for the overall fastest male and female.
Age group divisions include: 10 and under; 11 to 13; 14 to 19; then five-year bands through 70 and over. Registration fees are listed as $20 for ages 1 to 13 and $25 for ages 14 and older. Registration opens April 15, 2026 and closes September 10, 2026. Packet pick-up is available before the event at a local running store and also at the start/finish area on race day. Participants who register by August 14 at midnight will receive a race shirt; no extras will be ordered.
No refunds or transfers are allowed. The event will be held rain or shine; if the race is canceled for safety reasons entry fees will be treated as a donation to the Historic Port Royal Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
