Event Overview
The Poppy Run 5K is a running and walking event held in memory of fallen military personnel. It is part of a larger event that includes a kids' half-mile race. The event takes place at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Wauseon, Ohio.
Event Details
The event begins with a pre-race Memorial Day ceremony. After the ceremony, the 5K run/walk takes place, followed by the kids' race. All participants in the 5K receive a finisher medal.
Proceeds from the event support veteran organizations, specifically Flag City Honor Flight and the Fisher House Foundation.
Awards
Awards are given out, but they are not mailed; participants must be present at the ceremony to receive them. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Overall male and female winners receive awards.
- Overall Masters winners (age 40 and over) receive awards.
- The top three finishers in each age group receive a banner. Age groups range from 10 & Under to 85 & Older.
