About the race
The Popcorn Day event on September 11, 2026 in Ridgway, Illinois includes a 5K run, a walk, and a Kids Fun Run. The course is a flat out and back with water available at the turnaround. The start and finish are located one block from the Popcorn Day grandstand at St. Kateri Catholic Church, 220 South Combs, Ridgway, IL 62979.
Registration opens June 5, 2026 and closes September 11, 2026. The listed entrance fee is $25 per person before August 14, 2026 with a guaranteed shirt. Registration after August 14 has a higher price and shirts are not guaranteed; the stated price after that date is $30. The Kids Fun Run entry is listed at $25 and all participating children receive a medal and a t shirt.
Awards are given to the top two overall finishers in running and walking for male and female, and to the top two in each age group with no duplication of awards. Age groups for male and female are: 1-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-99.
