Pony Express Trail Run

The Pony Express Trail Run is a remote trail event west of Faust, Utah on the historic Pony Express Trail. The event offers two distances and follows dirt roads through sparsely populated terrain. Registration closes on October 15 at 11:59 AM Mountain Time.

Both races start at Lookout Campground west of Faust, UT. The 100 mile course goes out 58.5 miles to Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge and then returns to finish at Simpson Springs Corral. The 50 mile course follows the same initial direction but finishes at the Blackrock Pony Express station site.

The course surface is 100 percent dirt road with about 3,000 feet of total elevation gain and loss. The route is remote; crews are required to provide food and water and runners may share crews. A map is required for navigation, though the course is marked at major intersections and the general direction is west.
