Polka Run 5K - Inaugural edition
The Polka Run 5K is the inaugural running event associated with the Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival. The race date is July 12, 2026 and the location is Margaret T. Burroughs Beach And Park in Chicago. The festival runs July 10–12 at McCormick Place.
The course distance is 5K (3.1 Miles). Participants may run, walk, or move to polka steps along a route that passes Lake Shore Drive and the shores of Lake Michigan, with views of the Chicago skyline.
The event has limited capacity and a registration fee of $40. Registration opens February 16, 2026 and closes July 12, 2026.
Every runner and walker receives a custom finisher medal. The event is presented with a Lithuanian cultural theme; the Lithuanian flag colors yellow, green, and red are noted as part of the event atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
