Polka Pace Race : Havana, Illinois
The Polka Pace Race is a community running event in downtown Havana with a U.S.A. Track and Field certified 5K course. The route passes through Riverfront Park and along historic brick streets, beginning and ending on Main Street. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Event distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles) through downtown and Riverfront Park
- Polka Dot Fun Run (1 mile) for children 10 and under
Registration for each event is open and closes on the dates listed by the organizer. Entry fees are listed for each event; the 5K entry includes race registration, a race bag, a long sleeve race shirt, and a beer ticket for participants over 21. Race day registration is available on site only.
Prizes and awards include cash prizes for the top three overall finishers for both male and female divisions, glass pint drinking glasses for the top three finishers in age groups, and medals for the top ten finishers in the Polka Dot Fun Run. Official timing is provided and finish times will be posted online following the race.
The race is held in conjunction with Havana’s Oktoberfest celebration. Breakfast will be available for purchase near Main Street after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
