Polka Pace Race, Havana IL
The Polka Pace Race is an annual running event held in downtown Havana during the citys Oktoberfest celebration. The 5K course runs through the streets of Havana, passes Riverfront Park, and follows sections of the citys historic brick streets. The route is U.S.A. Track and Field certified and begins and ends on Main Street.
Event options include:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 mile Polka Dot Fun Run for children ages 10 and under
Registration opens July 3, 2026. Online registration is available through August 24, 2026 at a $30 fee that includes a race bag and a long sleeve race shirt. Late registration runs August 25 through September 6, 2026 at the same fee; shirts and packets are not guaranteed during the late window. Race day registration is available on site. The 5K entry also includes a beer ticket for participants 21 and over.
Prizes and awards include cash awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, glass pint awards for the top three in male and female age groups, and medals for the top ten finishers in the childrens Fun Run. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Timing is provided by J3 Timing and results will be posted online. Breakfast will be available for purchase near Main Street after the event.
