Polar Bear Run
The Polar Bear Run takes place in Long Beach, California, offering a winter running experience along the coast. Participants can choose between three distinct distances designed for various levels of athletes:
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
The event utilizes professional chip timing to provide accurate results for all participants. The course features three on-course water stations to support athletes during their run. The event is open to runners, walkers, and stroller athletes of all paces.
All participants receive a finisher medal upon crossing the line. Professional race photos are taken during the event and made available for participants to download afterward. The event concludes with a finish line gathering that includes music.
Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women in each distance. There are also specific awards for different age groups. Bib pick-up and same-day registration are managed at the race site on the morning of the event.
The starting location for all races is at 5400 E Ocean Blvd. For those arriving by vehicle, free street parking is available in the vicinity, or participants may use beach lot parking for a hourly fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
