Point Mugu Trail Run

The Point Mugu Trail Run takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Ray Miller Trail Head in La Jolla Canyon, Malibu, California. The event offers a half-marathon and a 10k held on coastal trails within Point Mugu State Park.

Distances:

  • 13.3 miles half-marathon, 2,150 ft gain
  • 6.9 miles 10k, 1,240 ft gain

The course begins on the Ray Miller Trail and ascends about three miles of ocean-view switchbacks. It continues along the Overlook fireroad, drops into Sycamore Canyon via the Backbone Trail, and includes approximately two faster miles before a final, steep climb on the Fireline Trail back to the Ray Miller downhill finish. The 10k course turns around at the top of the Fireline climb.

Aid stations on course are stocked with Skratch Labs hydration. The event is cupless. Finishers receive a medal and same day results; free course photography is provided. Post-race offerings at the festival area include a beer garden for guests 21 and older, breakfast tacos with plant based options, sports massage services provided by Vision For Enrichment, an awards ceremony for age groups, and professional event medical support.
