Event
The Point Mugu Trail Run takes place at the Ray Miller Trail Head in La Jolla Canyon, Malibu on April 18, 2026. It is Race #3 of the SoCalTrail "Trail 1/2 Series." The event includes packet pick up on race day, a post-race awards ceremony, and a post-race festival with food and a beer garden for participants 21 and older. The race is held cupless.
Course and distances
The course starts at the Ray Miller Trail and ascends about 3 miles of ocean-view switchbacks, follows the Overlook Fireroad, drops into Sycamore Canyon via the Backbone Trail, and includes the Fireline Trail climb before returning to the Ray Miller downhill finish. The short course for the 10k turns around at the top of Fireline.

Amenities and awards
All aid stations are stocked with Skratch Labs hydration. Entries include a finisher medal and same-day results. The event offers free course photography, plant-based breakfast tacos, hot coffee, sponsor giveaways, sports massage, finish line announcers and music, and professional medical support. Age-group and overall podium awards are presented for the half-marathon and 10k. Completing at least three of six series half-marathons provides eligibility for season-pass prizes; completing all six earns a collectible series plaque.
