Race Information
The Pocantico Hills Marathon and Half Marathon takes place at the Rockefeller State Preserve. The start and finish location is at Rockwood Hall, near Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow, next to Phelps Hospital. The event offers a marathon and a half marathon.
Course Details
Both the half-marathon and marathon courses are single loops on wide, groomed carriage roads within the preserve. The marathon route is designed to showcase nearly all of the park's signature sights. The course passes by fields, historic stone walls, bridges, grazing livestock, rivers, forests, and lakes. The terrain includes climbs and rolls. There is no pavement or vehicle traffic on the course. The races are walk-friendly and have generous cutoff times.
Event Setting
The run goes through the Rockefeller State Preserve in the Hudson Valley, on trails built over a century ago. The start/finish area at Rockwood Hall offers views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
