Plymouth Runway Mile & 5K

Held at Plymouth Municipal Airport (301 Airport Rd, Plymouth, IN 46563), this event raises funds for scholarships for aviation students through local flight schools.

The Runway Mile and Runway 5K are chip-timed competitive races with overall and age group awards. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both the Mile and the 5K: 1st $100, 2nd $50, 3rd $25. Overall award recipients are excluded from age group awards. There are no finisher medals for the Mile or the 5K.

The Plymouth Runway Challenge provides a bib for both races at a discounted rate and awards a custom finisher medal to participants who complete both races within the required time limits. The Challenge does not carry additional performance awards, and Challenge finishers remain eligible for overall and age group awards in each individual race.

Numerous airplanes and helicopters will be parked at the airport for viewing, and helicopter rides will be available for a fee. The runway will be closed to aircraft operations during the event so participants will run on the airport runway. Strollers are welcome; any child completing the course under their own power must be registered while a child being pushed in a stroller does not need registration.

Parking at the airport is limited. On Saturday parking is at Plymouth High School with continuous shuttle buses to the airport; airport parking is available on Friday only. Registration is handled through RunSignup only. Shirt sizes are guaranteed with registration by 5/16. A full refund minus processing fees is available if requested on or before 5/31/27; no refunds after 6/1/27. Packet pickup is at the airport on Friday, June 11 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and on Saturday starting at 7:00am. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
