Plod for Pastries: Croissant Crawl 2026
Plod for Pastries presents the second annual Croissant Crawl, a social charity fancy dress run raising money for rhino conservation. The event is a relaxed group run around Frome with planned stops at independent bakeries and four pastry stops.
Tickets cost £7 plus a £20 donation to Save the Rhino International via the event fundraiser. The previous Croissant Crawl raised £300 for the British Orthopaedic Association.
The course is a dress-up fun run of about 10.2 km meeting at The Old Showfield parkrun. It is explicitly not a race; participants run at a conversational pace and stop for pastries donated by bakery partners. The route plan lists the following segments:
- 2 km to River House Frome
- 1.7 km to Asda
- 2.8 km to Community Park Café
- 3.7 km to Café Leat
After the run attendees may visit Palmer Street Bottle where a 20% discount applies to the first celebratory drink. A pre-crawl offer gives 10% off at Rye Bakery before the start.
Important details state that the run will use pavements and follow traffic rules, participants take part at their own risk, fancy dress is encouraged but should be safe to run in, bakery partners will be announced later, and spots are limited to keep the run manageable.
