Pleasant Creek Trail Run - September 12, 2026
The 12th annual Pleasant Creek Trail Run takes place in Palo, Iowa, and is organized by the Eastern Iowa Trail Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The event offers multiple trail distances and a post-race cookout with beverages.
Distances:
- 45K
- 30K
- 15K
The course uses Pleasant Creek Park’s outer loop of the equestrian trail. The loop measures 15K; all distances run clockwise and return to the start to begin each subsequent loop. The surface is primarily dirt and grass with possible small water crossings. The trail includes rolling hills. Strollers and pets are not allowed on the course.
Awards and prizes include top overall male and female awards for each distance, plus cash payouts and free registration to the next year for overall winners. Age-group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in these groups: 29 and under, 30 to 45, and 46 and over. Overall winners are not eligible for age-group awards. Bonus payouts are available for breaking event records. Timing services and published results are provided by OnlineRaceResults.
Registration is managed online with an online registration deadline and a final chance at packet pickup on the Friday before the race; there is no day-of registration. Packet pickup is available Friday evening at Soko Outfitters and on race morning at the start area. Shirts are a paid add-on and size guarantees apply through an earlier deadline. No bib transfers or refunds; distance changes are allowed before race day only. Parking is directed by volunteers to the Pleasant Creek Beach grass field; do not park on grass elsewhere. The race is part of the No Coast Trail Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
