About the race
The Planting Fields Fall 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 24, 2026 at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York. The event is set within the historic Olmsted Brothers–designed landscape and uses a mix of paved paths, open grassy turf, and winding forest trails with natural dirt and rocky sections.
The 5K course has approximately 170 feet of elevation gain, including a notable ascent beginning at the Carshalton Gates. Halloween costumes are encouraged and there is fan voting for festive participants. The event includes a Kids Fun Run on a ½ mile loop for ages 12 and under; parents may run free alongside their children in that event.
