Planting Fields Fall 5K Run/Walk 2026
The Planting Fields Fall 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 24, 2026 at Planting Fields Arboretum, 1395 Planting Fields Road, Oyster Bay, NY. This is the 6th annual fall 5K held on the Olmsted Brothers-designed landscape of the estate.
The event offers a scenic 5K course that uses paved pathways, open grassy turf, and winding forest trails with natural dirt and rocky sections. The course includes approximately 170 feet of elevation gain, including a notable ascent beginning at the Carshalton Gates. In addition to the main distance, a Kids Fun Run is offered as a half mile loop; parents may run free alongside their children in the Fun Run.
Onsite amenities for registrants include live music from a DJ, food trucks, hands-on fall-themed crafts, free finish line photos, and free self-guided tours of the historic Main House. The first 350 5K finishers receive a collectible finisher medal. Costumes are encouraged and there is fan voting for crowd favorites at the Planting Fields Foundation information booth. Personalized bibs are provided to participants who register at least three weeks in advance.
An Early Bird Giveaway is open to entrants who register by September 2, 2026; the prize is a private one-hour golf cart tour for up to five guests to select areas of the estate.
