Planting Fields Fall 5K Run/Walk
The Planting Fields Fall 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 24, 2026 at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, NY. The event features a scenic 5K course that moves through the historic Olmsted Brothers–designed landscape, including paved pathways, open grassy turf, winding forest trails, and sections of natural dirt and rocky terrain. The course includes approximately 170 feet of elevation gain with a notable ascent beginning at the Carshalton Gates.
Event options include a main 5K and a Kids Fun Run (1/2 mile) for ages 12 and under; parents may run with children in the Kids Fun Run. The first 350 5K finishers receive a collectible finisher medal, and all participating children in the Kids Fun Run receive a medal. Personalized race bibs are provided for registrants who register three weeks in advance.
Onsite amenities for registrants include a live DJ, food trucks, hands-on fall themed crafts, free finish line photos, free self-guided tours of the historic Main House, and a 10% merchandise discount in the Visitor Center when showing a bib. A public Early Bird Giveaway is associated with registrations completed by September 2, 2026 and awards a private one-hour golf cart tour for up to five guests.
