Placerville Path Memorial Day Run
The event takes place on the El Dorado Trail at Placerville Station on Mosquito Road in historic Placerville. The path runs through oak trees and rolling hills and is held rain or shine. Strollers are allowed in the 5K, 10K, and 15K distances.

All races follow pink ribbons on an out and back course that heads east from the Mosquito Road starting area. The route climbs at an approximate 3% grade to each turnaround and returns downhill to the finish. The Kids Run, 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, and 15K are entirely on paved bike path. The half marathon leaves pavement at about 5.6 miles and continues on dirt and gravel to the trail end.
Course turnarounds are marked with colored ribbon groupings per distance. There are several road crossings marked with yellow ribbons; runners are asked to follow volunteer instructions at busier crossings including Carson Road and Jacquier Road. The half marathon includes a 4 hour overall cutoff and requires runners to report a specific number of red ribbons on the chain link fence at the trail end to verify a qualifying time.
There are multiple aid stations along the route at posted mile points and all finishers receive a medal. Race registration fees are non refundable but may be transferred to a future event with advance notice. Registration and check in are located inside Placerville Station and toilets are available there. Shirts may be offered during registration or at the event while supplies last.
