Pittsville Heart & Sole Road Race
The Heart & Sole Road Race is a fundraiser organized by the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department to support equipment purchases and community projects, including two college scholarships. The organizing department provides fire and emergency medical services to the City of Pittsville and a large portion of Wood County.
Distances and options include:
- 5 mile run/walk
- 2 mile run/walk
- Kids quarter mile race (no entry fee)
Registration categories list a pre registration fee of $15 and a late registration fee of $20, each with an optional $5 shirt. A donation only category is available; this category does not include race registration.
The course is an out and back layout. Aid stations and split times are provided along the route. The race will use chip timing, and number and chip pickup are available before the race. Complimentary refreshments are provided at the finish. Shower facilities are available at the high school.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age group for men and women. A memorial award is given in special recognition of a participant age 70 or over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
