Pittsville Heart & Sole Road Race
The Heart & Sole Road Race is a fundraiser organized by the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department to support equipment purchases and several community projects, including two college scholarships. The organizing non-profit provides fire and emergency medical services to the City of Pittsville and a large portion of Wood County.
The event offers multiple running and walking options:
- 5 mile Run/Walk
- 2 mile Run/Walk
There is also a kids quarter mile race with no entry fee.
Registration fees are listed in two tiers: a lower pre-registration fee and a higher late registration fee. A shirt is available for an additional fee. A donation-only registration option is available that does not include race entry.
The course is an out-and-back layout. Aid stations are provided and split times are recorded. The race will be chip timed. Complimentary refreshments are available for participants at the finish. Showers are available at the local high school.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group for men and women. A memorial award is presented in special recognition of a participant age 70 or over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
