Event Overview
The Run the Rapids 5K Walk/Run takes place along the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The event raises awareness and funds for child abuse prevention and youth development, with proceeds benefiting the Wood County Human Services Department and Assumption Catholic Schools.
Schedule
The event is scheduled for a Saturday in late April. The 5K Run/Walk begins at 9:00 AM. A Kids Dash for children aged 5 and under starts at 8:30 AM.
Location
The event is based at the Centralia Center at 220 Third Ave. S. in Wisconsin Rapids. The course follows paved trails and roads along the river.
Registration
Registration includes a long sleeve commemorative event shirt and a drawstring bag. Drawstring bags are guaranteed for the first 200 participants who register. Fees are structured as follows:
- Adult 5K Run/Walk: $30 for ages 11 and over.
- Youth 5K Run/Walk: $15 for ages 10 and under.
- Kids Dash: Free for ages 5 and under (does not include a t-shirt).
Awards
Commemorative plaques are awarded to the first place male and female overall finishers. The top three males and females in standard age group categories also receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
