RUN THE RAPIDS 5K WALK/RUN
RUN THE RAPIDS is a community 5K Run/Walk held in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, with activities at the Centralia Center, 220 Third Ave. S., Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495. The course runs along the Wisconsin River and uses a paved winding trail and smooth roads.
Registration includes a long sleeve commemorative event shirt and a drawstring bag. Drawstring bags are guaranteed for the first 200 participants who register. Entry fees listed are $30 for adults (ages 11 and over) and $15 for youth (ages 10 and under). The Kids Dash for ages 5 and under is free and does not include a t-shirt. Early bird registration dates are noted for late December to early January.
The event benefits Wood County Human Services Department and Assumption Catholic Schools. There is a race day drawing for one male and one female participant for a Garmin Forerunner 55 GPS watch donated by outside vendors.
Organizers offer team challenges for corporate groups and for friends and family. Group discounts are available on request and a minimum of six participants is required to qualify. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the team with the most participants.
Awards include commemorative plaques for the first place male and female overall and top three males and females in standard age groups: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
