Pirates 5K - Wendell
The Pirates 5K is a fundraising road race held in Wendell, North Carolina, on August 22, 2026. Proceeds help pay for runners on the team to attend summer camp, provide financial aid during the season, and support Corinth Holders High School cross country meet entries and general expenses. The event takes place near the school campus at 6875 Applewhite Road, Wendell NC 27591.
The event features a single 5K race run on a two loop course that is mostly flat with a few hills around the school campus. Every participant receives a race shirt; shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by August 6, 2026.
The registration fee schedule differs by age and registration date. For participants 18 and under the fees are $25 through August 5, 2026; $30 from August 6 through August 21, 2026; and $35 on race day August 22, 2026. For participants age 19 and older the fees are $30 through August 5, 2026; $35 from August 6 through August 21, 2026; and $40 on race day August 22, 2026.
Awards include Top 3 overall male and female finishers, top male and female in age groups 13 and under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over, and a Pass the Pirate Challenge special award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
