Event Overview
The Ninth Annual Pirate Dash is a community sports event held in Dover, Arkansas. Organized by the Dover Band members and Band Boosters, the event serves as a fundraiser to support the local band program, specifically for purchasing new instruments and providing student scholarships. Participants are encouraged to wear pirate-themed attire during the races.
Race Options
The event features multiple ways to participate, including in-person categories and a virtual option. The distances available include:
- 5K Run: A professionally chip-timed event for those in the running category.
- 5K Walk: A dedicated category for walkers.
- 1 Mile Fun Run: A shorter distance option.
- Virtual 5K: A remote participation format for those who cannot attend in person.
Timing and Location
The in-person races take place at 109 College Street in Dover. River Valley Runners provides professional chip-timing services for the event. Participants must select their specific category (runner or walker) during registration, as changes to these categories are not permitted after a specified deadline in October.

Awards are presented for various categories following the conclusion of the races. For the 5K Walk, awards are given to the overall male and female winners. For the 5K Run, awards are distributed based on gender and age groups, including 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
