Pioneertown Half Marathon and 10K
The Pioneertown event includes a half marathon and a 10K held in Pioneertown, California, near Joshua Tree National Park and within the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve. The course runs through high desert terrain with hills and views of the Sawtooth Mountains. The elevation at Pioneertown is 4,400 feet.

Both courses are chip timed. The event benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and supports its cancer research and programs. Each registered participant receives a Grit Series shirt in their packet and will receive a finisher mug and finisher shirt at the finish line. There are podium prizes with three female and three male winners for each course, for a total of 12 podium medals and prizes.
Packet pickup takes place at The Sound Stage (also called The Barn) on Mane Street, 53585 Mane St, Pioneertown, CA 92268. Cancer survivors who register may receive a complimentary yellow bandana at packet pickup while supplies last. The event is cupless; runners should bring a handheld water bottle or hydration pack. There are four water stations on the half marathon course and two water stations on the 10K course. Filled water bottles will be available for finishers at the finish area. Free parking is available at The OK Corral and other nearby lots. Organizers have indicated planning for a virtual option due to COVID-19 circumstances.
