About the race
Pink Ribbon Soester Wandelweekend is a walking event in the area of Soest and Baarn that uses local nature and historic sites. Routes run through heather, open sand flats, dunes and mixed forest, and pass several historic landmarks in Baarn and Soest. Participants can register for one day, for the full weekend (walking the same distance both days) or choose different distances on each day.

Saturday is the Baarnse Paleisdag. The route starts near the Oude Kerk in Soest and leads through the Baarnse Bos, once the overbos of Paleis Soestdijk. Characteristic features on this route are straight avenues, the Grote and Kleine Kom, and the Berceau that leads toward the Koninklijke Stallen and Paleis Soestdijk. The course continues through Baarn’s historic centre and passes Cantonspark and the Pekingtuin with their exotic tree species.
Sunday is the Soester Duinendag. The routes go over large sand flats and the Korte and Lange Duinen. The 12 km covers the Korte Duinen; the 22 km adds the Lange Duinen and Landgoed De Paltz. Walkers gain the Soester Hoogt (51 m above NAP) and traverse De Stompert, a former military training area. The 32 km route includes an additional loop over Vliegbasis Soesterberg.
A 6 km Family Walk runs both days, with a special stamp post and a finisher medal. Practical details: dogs are permitted with restrictions depending on day and route; the 12, 22 and 32 km routes are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs because of unpaved terrain while the 6 km route is accessible. Banners and similar items are not allowed. Wandelsportfoto takes participant photos on the route; images are available after the event.
