Pine Woods 5K
The Pine Woods 5K is an annual 5-kilometer road race hosted from Pine Woods Animal Hospital in Duxbury. The event takes place in June and is associated with the Pine Woods Animal Hospital at 612 Congress Street, Duxbury. Race day parking is provided at The Sun Tavern, 500 Congress Street, which is roughly a one third mile walk to the registration area. Bib pickup occurs at Pine Woods Animal Hospital.
Registration for the 5K has tiered pricing: Adult (21+) fees are listed as $30 through June 7 and $35 on race day; ages 11 to 20 are listed at $25 through June 7 and $30 on race day; age 10 and under are listed at $20 through June 7 and $25 on race day. The event notes a shirt deadline at the end of the day on Wednesday, May 21.
Awards include overall 1st through 3rd places for male and female, plus 1st place male and female in the age groups 10 and under, 11–15, 16–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 and over. Walkers are welcome. Participants using running strollers are asked to start in the back. Dogs are not permitted.
The race supports the nonprofit Massachusetts Vest A Dog, which provides bulletproof K-9 vests, equipment, funding for training, and dogs for law enforcement programs in Massachusetts.
