Pine Barrens Olympic Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike & Aquathlon
This multisport event takes place on September 11, 2027 at Atsion Lake Recreation Area Pavilion, 714 Route 206, Shamong, New Jersey. The program includes Olympic and Sprint distances in triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and aquathlon formats, plus relay options.
Swims occur in Atsion freshwater lake, the bike course uses the same flat country roads for all events, and runs are mostly off-road on wooded trails. Race swag includes T-shirts and finisher medals. Split results will be posted on race day and refreshments will be available at the finish.
Distances for the main formats:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 meter swim, 24.6 mile bike, 10k run
- Olympic Duathlon: 5k run, 24.6 mile bike, 5k run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1500 meter swim, 24.6 mile bike
- Sprint Triathlon: 1/2 mile swim, 24.6 mile bike, 5k run
- Sprint Aquathlon: 1/2 mile swim, 5k run
Registration and packet pickup are digital; athletes must register online and pick up their own packets. Photo ID is required for packet pickup. Annual USAT members must present their membership ID when required. A printed or digital email confirmation barcode is optional to speed pickup.
Event rules follow USAT guidance. Key points: all multisport participants must have active USAT membership, headphones are prohibited, drafting limits apply, helmets and chin straps must be securely fastened while handling a bike, and no riding in transition. Awards include overall, age group, Clydesdale and Athena, adaptive, non-binary, and relay categories.
