PILSC Legacy Run/Walk
The PILSC Legacy Run/Walk is an annual, family-inclusive event organized by the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre (PILSC). The fifth edition took place on June 27, 2026 and was presented by The Scott Smed Foundation. The event brings the community together and raises awareness of the impacts of infertility, miscarriage, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), stillbirth, neonatal loss, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Funds raised support no-cost support and community services delivered by PILSC. In 2026 the event raised over $177,000, and between 2021 and 2025 the event raised approximately $630,000. Examples of how contributions are allocated include $85 for one coaching session, $125 for the peer helpline, $200 to sponsor a support group, and $300 to connect someone with a peer mentor for three months.
The organization describes its services as accessible regardless of financial situation, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith, or background. The event includes fundraising elements such as apparel, custom legacy signs, ticketed items and a silent auction. The Oasis Wellness Centre & Spa ran a one-week promotion offering a $100 gift card for a $100 contribution during April 25 to May 1. PILSC also acknowledges the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation Region 3, and people living in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
