PILSC Legacy Run/Walk : annual event
The PILSC Legacy Run/Walk is an annual, family-inclusive run and walk presented by The Scott Smed Foundation. The event brings the community together and raises awareness of the impacts of infertility, miscarriage, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), stillbirth, neonatal loss, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Funds raised support the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre (PILSC), a registered charity that provides no-cost support and community services. Reported results show over $177,000 raised in 2026, and approximately $630,000 raised cumulatively from 2021 through 2025.
Information provided on funding allocation specifies concrete uses: 85 USD for one coaching session, 125 USD for the peer helpline, 200 USD to sponsor a support group, and 300 USD to connect a person with a peer mentor for three months. Fundraising also supports accessibility and equity so services remain available regardless of financial situation, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith, or background.
The event features fundraising activities such as a silent auction, apparel sales, custom legacy signs, and volunteer opportunities. The hosting organization includes an acknowledgment of the traditional territories on which the community lives and works. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
