Piedmont Turkey Trot 2026
The 25th Annual Piedmont Turkey Trot takes place in Piedmont, California, with the course centered at the Piedmont Exedra near Highland and Magnolia Avenues. The event features a USA T & F certified 5K course that welcomes runners, walkers, stroller participants, and dogs on short leashes.
The Piedmont Turkey Trot is organized as a 100 percent nonprofit effort. Net proceeds benefit Piedmont High School Cross Country and Track & Field teams and support other local youth and community programs, including Piedmont Middle School XC and Track & Field, the Piedmont Junior Running Club, Run Better Oakland, and the Piedmont Service Crew. Since 2017 the event reports $205,000 returned to the community, including $135,000 toward the Hampton Field rebuild, $20,000 to the Piedmont Education Foundation, and $60,000 to the PHS Athletic Boosters.
Registration fees vary by age category and by registration date. Example pricing for the 5K shows adult and youth tiers with earlier registration priced lower than later registration.
Safety and conduct rules restrict bicycles, in-line skates, trikes, scooters, wagons, and skateboards on the course. Headphones are strongly discouraged so participants can hear directions from announcers, police, and volunteers. Unregistered participants are not permitted on the course. Strollers and baby joggers must start at designated signage at the back of the start line. Dogs on short leashes are permitted and must also start at the back; retractable leashes are not allowed.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in male and female age groups spanning ages 2 through 80 plus, and in non-binary categories for 12 and under and 13 and over. A free Tiny Tot Trot is scheduled the day before at Witter Field. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
