2026 Piedmont Turkey Trot
The Piedmont Turkey Trot is the 25th annual community 5K held in Piedmont, California on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The event starts and finishes near the Piedmont Exedra at Highland and Magnolia Avenues and is a USA Track & Field certified 5K open to runners, walkers, and stroller participants.
The event is organized as a 100 percent nonprofit. Net proceeds directly benefit the Piedmont High School Cross Country and Track & Field teams. The race also provides ongoing support to local youth programs, including Piedmont Middle School cross country and track and field, the Piedmont Junior Running Club, Run Better Oakland, and the Piedmont Service Crew.
Since 2017 the Piedmont Turkey Trot has funneled approximately $205,000 back into the local community, including about $135,000 toward the Hampton Field rebuild. The event also offers a separate Tiny Tot Trot for 3 to 6 year olds on the day before the 5K at Witter Field; that youth activity is one lap around the track and is presented as a free community offering.
Logistics include bib pickup the day before at Veterans Hall in Piedmont and a limited day of pickup with no same day race registration. Course rules prohibit bikes, in-line skates, trikes, scooters, wagons, and skateboards; the use of headphones is strongly discouraged. Strollers and baby joggers are permitted and must start at the designated signage at the back of the start line. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories across age divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
