Pick Your Poison Trail Race
Pick Your Poison is an ultra trail event held each spring in Copeland Forest at the Heights of Horseshoe near Craighurst/Barrie, Ontario. The race offers three looped distances: 12.5 km, 25 km and 50 km.
Each loop includes varied trail terrain and climbs; runners complete multiple laps according to selected distance. Each loop is supported by three aid stations supplying water, electrolytes, pop, assorted candy, chips and pickles. Some aid stations may also offer PB & J sandwiches and hot soup. After the race, each participant receives a ticket for a boxed lunch.
The event operates as a not for profit; proceeds support local social service organizations, mental health programs and the Copeland Forest Friends. Total capacity is 450 runners, with 150 entries allocated per distance. The 2026 edition is noted as sold out and volunteers are guaranteed entry for the following year. Registration policy includes a wait list managed in order of sign up, no refunds, and deferral options that can be carried over for up to two years.
