Pick Your Poison Trail Race : Event Overview
Pick Your Poison is an annual trail race held in April in the Copeland Forest near Barrie, Ontario. The event offers three looped distance options on the same course.
- 12.5k one loop
- 25k two loops
- 50k four loops
The course runs through the Heights of Horseshoe and features hilly terrain with repeated climbs. Spring weather is variable; previous editions have seen conditions ranging from mild temperatures to snow. Each loop includes three aid stations stocked with water, pop, electrolytes, assorted candy, chips and pickles; additional items such as PB and J sandwiches and hot soup may be provided. Runners receive a ticket for a boxed post race meal.
The event operates as a not for profit and proceeds support mental health awareness organizations. Registration uses Race Roster and is handled on a first come, first served basis. Total capacity is 450 runners with about 150 entries allocated per distance. A wait list is maintained and selected participants are charged only if they accept an invitation. Refunds are not offered; deferrals and distance transfers are allowed according to the organizer's stated deadlines and policies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
