About the race
PHOENIX Fridays are a series of timed Friday running events with flexible rock up and run start times. This edition is the "Run for a Tenner" charity event; the £10 affiliated entry is directed to the Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity. Event entries are listed as £10 (affiliated) and £12 (unaffiliated). Charity runs for this series feature a double-sided Rays of Sunshine medal, and all participants receive a finishers' memento.
The event uses an out-and-back lap measuring 5.3 km (3.28 miles) along the river Thames. The surface is off-road riverside towpath and the overall course has no elevation gain or loss, making it flat and suitable for repeated laps. Distances can be chosen on the day and participants decide how many laps to complete within the event limits.
Distances available include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles). There is an overall time limit of 7 hours. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules; full terms and conditions describe those restrictions. Both attended and virtual participants receive the event medal or memento. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
