Phambile Orienteering Event #7
Phambile Orienteering Event #7 is a bush orienteering meeting organised by RACOrienteers at Phambile, Driefontein Rd, Krugersdorp, Gauteng, South Africa. The event is the seventh bush event for 2026 and is set on typical highveld bush-land that includes grassy plains, hills and rocky areas. The event notes a typical age range of 12 and up.
Orienteering at this event requires navigation with a detailed topographical map and a compass to visit numbered controls in numerical order. Controls are marked with orange and white flags and use an electronic timing unit. Participants choose their own route between controls and aim to complete their chosen course in the shortest time.
Available colour courses and approximate distances include:
- Brown course - 8 km
- Blue course - 6.5 km
- Green course - 5 km
- Red course - 7 km
- Light Green course - 3.5 km
- Orange course - 2.5 km
- Yellow course - for children under 10 years
Some classes include hire of an SI timing device and some group classes indicate SI is included in the entry. Team entries are supported for certain classes and teams must consist of two participants. Access is via the farm Driefontein off Driefontein Road R114 with signposted parking and a short track to a gated entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
