Petzl Night Runner Rivington
Petzl Night Runner Rivington takes place on 16 January 2027 around Rivington and Winter Hill in the West Pennine Moors. The event base is at Rivington and Blackrod High School, Rivington Lane, Bolton BL6 7RU.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10K single loop route
- Half Marathon longer route with extra miles and elevation
The route runs on rocky and cobbled paths, muddy trails and open moorland. The course is fully marked with reflective signs to aid navigation at night. Participants require a good quality head torch or hand held torch. Road shoes are not adequate; organisers recommend trail or fell shoes with an aggressive tread. Because the event is in winter, warm clothing and a wind or waterproof jacket are recommended.
Entry information notes early entry prices at £32 for the 10K and £39 for the Half Marathon, plus an admin fee. The minimum age for both distances is 16 on the day. A free 1k event is available for young children of parents taking part in the main race.
Entries include aid stations, music and atmosphere, free onsite parking, course support, online results, a custom finishers medal, electronic timing, a fully signed route and free photos and video. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
