The course uses trails around Bussey Brake Reservoir, including an 8-mile route that follows the top of the reservoir levee. The terrain is described as very flat with occasional holes and large ant piles. The front side of the course is exposed to sun while the back side offers shade.
Aid and on-course services include two aid stations, a fully manned station at the start/finish offering hot food, and an on-course point around four miles with ice, water, electrolytes, and snacks.
