- 8 Miler
The course uses trails around Bussey Brake Reservoir, including an 8-mile section that follows the top of the reservoir levee. Non-motorized hiking, biking, and horseback riding also use parts of the area.
Two aid stations are provided: a fully manned station at the start/finish with hot food, and an on-course station near the 4-mile mark offering ice, water, electrolytes, and snacks. Race day food offerings include items such as PB&J, chips, cookies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a selection of drinks; vegan options will be available. Finish meal details are to be confirmed.
All participants receive a finisher medal. Top three male and female finishers receive custom plaques. Swag includes a T-shirt, headbands, and a runner light; additional swag items and added trail cameras for photos and video are noted for this edition.
Bussey Brake WMA has two parking areas on the west side of the highway and a self-clearing permit station at the north parking area. Nearby lodging options include primitive campsites, cabins, and full-service RV hookups at a local property, and Chemin-A-Haut State Park is about seven miles away.
Discounts are listed for military, first responders, and donors with a short proof period after registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
