Pere Malfait Trail Race
The Pere Malfait Trail Race is an organized trail event in Bastrop, Louisiana, held at Bussey Brake Wildlife Management Area. The event is presented by BTR and includes multiple distance options on the Bussey Brake trail system, which follows the top of the reservoir levee.
The trail is described as very flat and runs around Bussey Brake Reservoir. Runners should expect holes and large ant piles in places. The front side of the course is exposed to the sun, while the back side has shade. Parking is available at north and south lots off Bonner Ferry Road; a self-clearing permit station is at the north parking area. Lodging options near the site include The Oaks at Bussey and Chemin-A-Haut State Park, about 7 miles away.
