Pendle Way In A Day 2027
The Pendle Way In A Day is a winter ultra and long-distance walking event on waymarked trails and moorland in the South Pennines, based in East Lancashire. The route is a full circular of the Pendle Way starting in Barley and follows footpaths and bridleways through local villages and upland terrain. Full route materials are provided, including GPX files, a full map and written instructions, and the course is waymarked with the Pendle Witch markers.
The event offers two route options:
- 45 miles (approx 68.8 km), 6100 ft ascent (1848 m)
- 30 miles (approx 46.5 km), 4500 ft ascent (1343 m)
The course passes through Barley, Blacko, Barnoldswick via Weets Hill, Earby, Laneshawbridge, Wycoller, Boulsworth Bottoms, Catlow Bottoms, Higham, Newchurch and includes a climb up Pendle Hill. The start location is in Barley at the foot of Pendle, with parking available nearby.
This is a winter event with significant ascent and some navigation required. Entrants must be at least 18 years old. Required kit includes full body waterproof cover, map, headtorch and spare batteries, compass, whistle, mug, fully charged mobile phone, and appropriate fell or trail footwear.
